Musical notes

The Matthew unit introduces a Celtic theme which you might like to explore further in the music you use in worship. You might like to delve into a little more earthy folk music, go to this traditional Irish session on YouTube.

For Christian Celtic music you could start with this example from YouTube.

You may wish to play Riverdance, good tunes and a stunning harvest sequence with Eileen Ivers’ inimitable fiddle towards the end. If you wanted to explore Celtic prayer a little more then have a look at Tess Ward’s delightful book The Celtic Wheel of the Year.

Matthew Part 6 suggests that children look at some examples of worship. We would not suggest that they do this unsupervised, of course.  The following would be some good examples you might share with children.
