RE Assessment

Adaptable thinking about RE assessment in church schools and academies.

Thinking about assessment is constantly changing.

Using a mind map at the beginning and the end of a unit of work is a great way to capture what the class or individual children have learnt over time. Using governors to gather pupil voice about their experience of RE is also a useful way of supporting assessment.

Whatever way you choose to assess the children’s ‘sticky knowledge’, do please remember that it needs to comply with your school’s assessment approach. What is pedagogically good for other subjects is often good for RE too.
